The Modtas Tram Ramp is a groundbreaking solution designed to provide accessibility for all commuters at “curb stop” tram stations. Curb stops are those where traffic must halt, and passengers traditionally cross the road to board while cars wait. Presently, individuals using wheelchairs, mobility scooters, with prams, or facing mobility challenges are unable to board at these stops due to the 290mm step up from the road to the tram.
The innovative ramp concept developed by Modtas eliminates this barrier, enabling passengers to access and exit the tram seamlessly at stops previously inaccessible to the disability community.
